I am pleased to say that I have added a whole bunch of new vegetables to the Thai vegetables lesson. There were a few vegetables before, but I decided to beef it up (vegetable it up?) with a concerted effort to get a fairly definitive list of basic vegetables.
New additions include:
- sweet pepper
- celery
- sweet corn
- cauliflower
- pumpkin (this one sounds decidedly rude to my English ear)
My language helper didn't know the Thai word for beetroot, and I cannot remember ever seeing one here in 7 months in Thailand, so I just left it out.
At the time of writing there are now 19 vegetables listed, so, if in Thai you don't know your sweet pepper from your sweet corn, then I commend this enhanced lesson to your study:
